Yumon Tiles: A Fusion of Tradition and Elegance

Yumon is a meticulously crafted glazed porcelain tile collection from INAX, renowned Japanese master ceramicists. Inspired by the intricate beauty of traditional Japanese kimono patterns, Yumon tiles are a modern homage to the cultural heritage of Japan. The design is based on the classic Tatewaku motif—a revered pattern symbolizing rising steam or clouds, often associated with auspiciousness and good fortune in Japanese culture. This timeless motif represents growth, success, and positive energy, making Yumon tiles not only a visual delight but also a bearer of symbolic meaning.

Yumon tile are available in three elegant colors: Red, White, and Black. These colors offer versatility, allowing the tiles to complement a range of architectural styles and color schemes. The tiles come in three distinct pattern options: Flat, Straight, and Wave. The flat pattern brings a minimalist charm, the straight pattern emphasizes linearity and structure, while the wave pattern introduces dynamic movement and depth to the surface, making it ideal for creating statement walls or accent areas.

Yumon’s combination of traditional aesthetics with contemporary design flexibility makes it a versatile choice for spaces seeking a touch of Japanese elegance and cultural richness. Whether installed in residential or commercial spaces, Yumon tiles stand as a testament to Japan’s dedication to craftsmanship, art, and the subtle beauty of wabi-sabi.

The price is for a single tile, which will be enough for you to establish the real look, feel, and color of the tile.

Superclean Grout is an Anti-Mould Grout from master ceramicists, INAX of Japan.

This grout has been developed to exceed the exacting demands for cleanliness and hygiene of the Japanese people.

Moisture and dirt penetrate into conventional cement grout, causing mould growth on the surface. Superclean Grout transforms the property of grout particles to hydrophobic, dramatically reducing the penetration of moisture into the grout and preventing the grout from holding dirt and growing mould.

It's one of the few available in Europe that passes the high standard of Anti-Stain, Anti-Bacterial and Anti-Fungal of ISO Standard - ISO22196.

We offer three main shipping categories: Stock from Japan, Stock from Europe, and Samples.

European Stock

These tiles make up a smaller portion of our range but account for most of our sales by volume.

Stock is held in Germany and the UK, with availability clearly marked. Unless otherwise stated, stock is located in Germany.

To ensure safe delivery, we only offer pallet deliveries for these tiles.

Orders are shipped the same day or the next day, depending on the confirmation time.

Delivery time varies by location but is typically within 3–10 days.

Our website provides clear shipping options and costs before requiring payment.

If you’re in a remote location, please contact us in advance to confirm shipping rates.

Stock from Japan (Pre-Orders)

We offer two shipping options for pre-ordered tiles from Japan:

1. Dedicated Sea Freight

Your order is shipped individually as soon as it’s ready.

The process includes 5 weeks at sea plus customs and local handling, totalling 10–14 weeks.

2. Shared Sea Freight

Your order is combined with others before shipment to our German warehouse.

We typically have six shipments per year.

Once dispatched, delivery follows the same timeline as Dedicated Sea Freight.

UK orders are transported to our UK warehouse before final delivery.

Samples

We carry a full range of samples in our UK warehouse and the most popular tiles can be supplied from our German warehouse.

Shipping via DPD.

European deliveries take 3–5 days.

Returns

We accept returns for bulk stock items (not samples). However, due to the high cost of return shipping, we encourage you to make an informed decision before ordering.

Return Policy

Items from Japan (Custom Orders) are non-returnable.

To initiate a return, email us at info@mittsugroup.com within 14 days of receiving your order.

The return must be sent to the warehouse it was dispatched from within the following 14 days.

Tiles must be returned in their original, unopened, and undamaged condition. Pallet shipping is required—courier shipments often result in damage.

Refunds will be issued within 14 days of receiving the returned items.

How to Choose the Right Tile

• Search by name on our website.

• Browse our collections for inspiration.

• Follow us on Instagram for design ideas.

Box Sizes & Pricing

Since we source tiles from multiple Japanese manufacturers, box sizes vary, ranging from 0.3m² to 2m². To keep things transparent, each tile page displays:

Price per square meter (for easy comparison).

Price per box (as we only sell full boxes).

For example, our Kaji Border tile costs more per box than Ka-Bu, but it covers 1.8m² per box compared to Ka-Bu’s 1m², making it a lower cost option per square meter.

Stock Availability

We keep around 50 tile variations in our German warehouse, ready for immediate shipping.

Some of our most popular tiles are also available in the UK warehouse

Despite our best efforts, demand can sometimes outpace supply, so if a tile is out of stock, feel free to contact us for alternatives or restock timelines.

Pre-Orders (Stock from Japan)

For tiles not currently in our European stock, we offer two shipping options:

1. Dedicated Sea Freight – Your order is shipped individually as soon as it’s ready.

2. Shared Sea Freight – Your order is combined with others for more cost-effective shipping.

Our website allows you to order tiles from Japan with the understanding that shipping times vary. If you’re interested in a specific tile that’s out of stock, please get in touch with us, and we’ll be happy to assist.

Samples

While we strive for accurate photography, tile colours may appear differently on screens. We highly recommend ordering samples to ensure you get exactly what you expect.

You can browse our sample collection or search by tile name and select the sample option.

We have over 400 sample variations ready to ship.

Sample orders within the UK are shipped via DPD Next Day Service, with European deliveries taking 3–5 days. (there are no duty or taxes to pay within the EU)

We have made some of our most popular tiles available as samples from our German warehouse. You can see these here.

Why Do We Charge for Samples?

1. To minimise waste – Charging a small fee prevents unnecessary orders.

2. To offset costs – Sample stocking and processing are expensive.

However, when you place a tile order for your project, we will refund the cost of up to 5 regular samples upon request.
