A Quiet Material Background

The tiled splashback runs behind the cooking and preparation areas, sitting within the same light tonal range as the surrounding cabinetry and worktops. Rather than creating a strong colour contrast, Yuki Border introduces difference through its narrow format and changing reflection.

Scale and Proportion

The vertical ceramic module provides a finer grain against the broad timber doors and long stone surfaces. Natural light from above moves across the glaze, making the splashback more or less visible as conditions change.

Used in this way, the tile supports the calm character of the kitchen while preventing the pale material palette from becoming visually uniform.
