Designed by light and shadow
Relief and irregular glaze respond throughout the day, changing the wall as the light direction and viewing angle shift.
Textured and dimensional tiles
Explore textured wall tiles made in Japan for interiors shaped by material depth, light and shadow. The collection brings together dimensional relief, varied glaze, tactile surfaces and small-format ceramic and porcelain tiles suited to feature walls, bathrooms, kitchens, hospitality and commercial spaces.
Kiln firing creates natural differences in tone and surface from piece to piece, giving an installation more character than a digitally repeated finish. Order samples to study the texture and glaze in your own lighting before specification. Mittsu supplies locally stocked ranges from the UAE, UK and Europe, with additional collections made to order in Japan. Contact the team for technical information, project quantities and lead times.

Differences created during firing are part of the material expression and should be reviewed across multiple pieces.
Flat photography cannot fully communicate relief, reflectivity and tonal movement. Assess the tile in the project's actual light.

Material guidance
Not always. Texture can come from pronounced relief, a subtle uneven surface or glaze variation. Review the profile and sample to understand the actual depth.
Follow the individual product maintenance guidance. A neutral cleaner and soft brush or cloth are commonly appropriate, while abrasive or acidic products may damage some surfaces.
Grazing light emphasises shadow and depth, while diffuse frontal light makes the same relief appear quieter. Test the sample under lighting similar to the completed room.
Where a collection has tonal or surface variation, blending pieces from multiple cartons helps distribute that variation naturally across the wall.
See the surface first
Light direction and viewing distance can transform a textured surface. Order samples or discuss the intended application with our team.
